West End Scarf
Short Description: West End is named for the famous theatre district in London because it could win awards for its dramatic performance, but when you wear it the spotlight is all yours. This sideways knit scarf is long and versatile with a linen stitch center and striped ruffle, punctuated with lines of slipped stitches.
Gauge: 22 sts and 22 rows = 4” using the larger needle in blocked Linen Stitch. In garter stitch, 21 sts and 27 rows = 4” using the smaller needle. Suggested needle sizes are US 8 (5 mm) and US 5 (3.75 mm).
Finished Measurements: WIDTH: 7”, LENGTH: 70”
Materials Used: YARN: Three Irish Girls Kells Sport (100% Merino, 320 yds / 3.5 oz): 1 skein each in Ryan (MC) and Enna (CC, )NOTIONS: darning needle for weaving in ends.
Needle Size: 48” circular needle in US 8 (5 mm) and 5 (3.5 mm) OR sizes required to obtain gauge. For optional single crochet edge on the ends of the scarf you’ll also need a crochet hook in the size equivalent to your smaller needle. This is an “F” hook for a US 5 (3.5 mm) needle.
