Verbena by A. Opie Designs | Verbena is a little girl's neck wrap that's whimsically embellished with crocheted flowers. One size that can be worn for Years. It fits toddlers thru grade school. It's knitted in a tube and held together with a snap closure so it stays in place while busy girls play! The crocheted flowers In this pattern are fairly simple and are appropriate for a crochet beginner. There are many additional free crocheted flower patterns available on line and I've listed a few links on the last page. Maybe you have a few favorites of your own. Embellish your scarf with as many as you like!
Gauge: 5.5 stitches per inch in stockinette; not critical

Materials Used: Approximately 150 yards of a DK weight yarn; various scraps of DK weight yarn for crocheted flowers; each small flower requires approximately 2.5 yards; Sample shown is knitted using weepaca by Big Bad Wool, 1.5 skeins in linen. Flowers and leaves were crocheted using weepaca by Big Bad Wool. Not more than 12 yards each of pink noses, girly girl, stop, tree frog, mustard, lilac and plum.
Needle Size: Size 7 DPNs, Size 7/ 12" circular needle; 4.5 mm crochet hook, or a G (5mm) hook
