Gauge: For fingering: 18 stitches and 48 rows = 4”/10 cm in garter, using US 7/4.5 mm needles
Finished Measurements: As this shawl is highly adaptable, the finished dimensions will vary with yardage. Sample used 106 g (490 yds/448 m) fingering yarn and measured 54”/137 cm for A (top edge/wingspan), 88/”224 cm for B (bottom edge), and 13.5”/34 cm for C (depth).
Materials Used:
- 1 color fingering yarn. Recommend at least 100 g/3.5 oz skein. May use different weights or amounts if desired, though this will affect the finished size of the shawl.
- Sample shown in Mitchell’s Creations Lagniappe Sock (75% merino, 25% nylon), 463 yds/423 m per 3.53 oz/100 g), colorway Who Said Unicorns Aren’t Real?
Needle Size: US 7/4.5 mm for fingering weight. Use smaller needles for finer yarn and larger needles for thicker yarn to achieve a drapey fabric.
