Product Description

Short Description: When you want a shawl you can mix and match, Thebarton is a go-to choice! Not only can you knit it out of a fingering or DK weight yarn, but you can apply optional tassels and the simple texture is great for both playing with colour or keeping things neutral.


  • Fingering weight version: 20 stitches x 38 rows = 10cm (4”)
  • DK weight version: 16 stitches x 32 rows = 10cm (4”) In Pattern Chart

Finished Measurements:

  • Fingering weight version: approximately 158cm (62 ¼”) wingspan and 74cm (29 ¼”) deep at centre spine, relaxed after blocking.
  • DK weight version: approximately 156cm (61 ½”) wingspan and 70cm (27 ½”) deep at centre spine, relaxed after blocking.

Materials Used: 745m (814yds)/207g of fingering weight yarn (626m [684yds]/174g of MC and 119m [130yds]/33g of CC, or extra MC if you are making a one-colour version)
OR 538m (589yds)/269g of DK weight yarn (446m [488yds]/223g of MC and 92m [101yds]/46g of CC, or extra MC if you are making a one-colour version)

Needle Size:

  • Fingering weight version: 3.75mm (US 5) circular needle
  • DK weight version: 4.5mm (US 7) circular needle Or size to obtain gauge (at least 100cm {40”} cable length recommended)
