Snickerdoodle by RhyFlower Knits | At times, a simplistic texture is all you need for a great sock! Snickerdoodle is a sock pattern with just enough spice to make it interesting, without being overwhelmed, just like the cookie it takes its name from. The pattern has both toe-up and cuff-down constructions and contains written directions and charts - making this pattern ideal for your preferred knitting style. A link to my free Back to Basics sock pattern should you wish to swap out the heel (as simple as replacing the foot/leg directions with the desired heel without all the icky math!).Worked in the round, Snickerdoodle contains both cuff-down and toe-up written directions and a chart for the pattern stitch. The pattern has instructions for a short row heel, but you may substitute whatever heel you enjoy using (links included for alternatives). The pattern is written for the magic loop method for knitting socks; however, the design could be worked on double-pointed needles or mini-circulars instead should you prefer (ensure you denote your instep stitches with extra markers – so you don’t miss the placement of the heel or toe shaping). This sock pattern shines well with solid, semi-solid, or lightly variegated/speckled yarns. Picking an appropriate yarn for this project will ensure you don't lose the fun texture you'll be creating with this pattern stitch.
