Second Chances by Carina Spencer | Clean lines, structured lace, and a shape halfway between a beanie and a slouch, Second Chances was designed to pair with my Zuzu’s Petals Cowlette (shown together in some of the photos) for a set inspired by the iconic film, “It’s A Wonderful Life.” Pattern includes charts and written directions for four gauges to accommodate fingering - super bulky weight yarns. Knits up fast from brim to crown and is simple enough for an advanced beginner!

  • GAUGE 2 (for dk - worsted weight yarns): 18 sts & 25 rounds = 4”/10 cm in Lace Pattern OR 18 sts & 26 rows = 4”/10 cm in stockinette; Suggested needle size US 8/5 mm or 9/5.5 mm
  • GAUGE 3 (for bulky weight yarns): 14 sts & 20 rounds = 4”/10 cm in Lace Pattern OR 13½ sts & 20 rows = 4”/10 cm in stockinette; Suggested needle size US 10/6 mm or 11/8 mm
