Short Description: This toasty hat is dense with cabled texture to keep head and ears cozy on cold, windy winter days. But far from being utilitarian alone, it will add a layer of eye-catching texture and depth to a plain coat or zingy movement when mixing patterned fabrics for a bolder look. Worked in the round from brim to crown, the constant cabling will keep you nailed to this project til the last stitch is complete. Add a pompom for extra height or a fun accent. Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size and drape.
Gauge: 22 stitches and 28 rnds = 4 inches / 10 cm in stockinette worked in the round on larger needle (unblocked)
Finished Measurements: 18 inches / 46 cm brim circumference and 8.5 inches / 22 cm height from base of ribbing to top of crown, to fit head sizes 21 to 23 inches / 53 to 58 cm around. Measurements taken from relaxed fabric after blocking.
