Short Description: These placemats have a dense herringbone stitch pattern in worsted weight which lies nice and flat, surrounded by a slightly ruffled lace edging done in a fingering weight yarn knit in the round from picked-up stitches.

Gauge: 25 sts and 52 rows = 4'' / 10 cm in Woven Herringbone pattern, blocked, using larger needles and A.

Finished Measurements: 18" / 46 cm wide and 13" / 33 cm tall

Materials Used:

  • For 1 placemat:  Worsted weight yarn (A): 215 yds / 206 m; Fingering weight yarn (B): 120 yds / 110 m
  • Yarns used:  Cascade Avalon (50% cotton, 50% acrylic; 175 yds / 160 m per 100 g skein): 2 skeins of Sandshell #05 (A); Cascade Heritage (75% merino superwash, 25% nylon; 437 yds / 400m): 1 skein of Snow #5618 (B)
