Doubled-Up Hat by Shanalines Designs | My brother lives in the windy city of Chicago. Through the years, I’ve knit him scarves and hats to ward off the cold, but he recently confessed that even worsted and bulky weight knits were letting too much air through. After consulting with some knitting friends, I realized the importance of a more densely knit fabric for a windy climate. This beginner-friendly design uses bright colors of a washable worsted weight wool blend, making it a great choice for a gift project. The double-thick textured brim coupled with a contrasting crown finished with a crisp line of decreases creates a cozy hat, even with the coldest winds! The stretchy brim accommodates a range of head sizes, making the DOUBLED-UP HAT a great gift for your entire cold-eared crew.
