Amphitrite by rhyFlower Knits | Amphitrite, the wife of Poseidon, was the Greek goddess of the sea. She was chosen by Poseidon, among her 50-100 sisters, to be his bride. Amphitrite has refused Poseidon's proposal and fled to Atlas - only to be found and returned to him to be his bride. As with most Greek mythology, the patriarchy runs amok. With the effervescent lace that looks like bubbles rising in the water, I couldn’t resist honoring her namesake with this generously sized one-to-two skein wonder.

Pattern Notes: This triangular-shaped shawl is worked along the bias, starting at one corner and slowly increasing 3 stitches every 4 rows, giving it that luscious shape. Worked flat, Amphitrite contains written directions and charts. A handy-dandy progress tracker is included to help you with your rows and stitch counts. Yardage for each section is given should you wish to turn this into a scrappy project!

Gauge: 18 stitches by 25 rows in garter = 4” / 10 cm, after blocking. While gauge is not important, as the fit is not crucial, changes in gauge will result in size differences and the yardage required to complete the project.

Finished Measurements: Approximately 84 [124]” / 214 [315] cm across the wingspan, 20 [37]” / 51 ([94] cm deep, after blocking. Both pattern samples are shown in the small size.

Materials Used: 398 [888] yds / 364 [812] m fingering weight yarn, tapestry needle, progress keeper or locking stitch marker (optional)

Needle Size: US 7 (4.5 mm) 40” (100 cm) circular needles, or size required to obtain gauge
