Air Hugs Wrap by Shanalines Designs | This design comes from my desire to maximize the possibilities of yardage in single skeins. I designed this project with Queen City Yarn to showcase their yarn dyeing technique with the versatility of my designs. I love the color pairings within their speckled yarns and complementary tonal palette, so I created this textured shape to highlight those. The subtly different angles and textures within the design create variable styling options. This piece was originally designed for the Zombie Knitpocalypse 2020 retreat, a time that I look forward to yearly, when friends from around the world gather together over a love of the fiber arts, good food, jokes, and lots of hugs. I love the idea of friends knitting the same pattern in their own color palettes, and in the short term, sharing their work virtually with each other. When we are able to gather again in person, we can swap out AIR HUGS for physical ones and admire our knitwear in real life.
